Michel Herbelin

Michel Herbelin – The Heart and Soul of French Watchmaking Since 1947
There are brands that do more than just make watches. They tell a story, reflect a region, and embody a passion. Michel Herbelin is one of them.
In 1947, in the small village of Charquemont, in the heart of the French Jura Mountains, Michel Herbelin laid the foundation for a somewhat daring dream: to create beautiful French watches that were independent, affordable, yet never ordinary. More than 75 years later, his children and grandchildren carry on this family legacy with the same high standards: every Michel Herbelin watch is still imagined, designed, and assembled in France, in the historic workshops of Franche-Comté.
One of the last 100% French and independent manufacturers
At a time when so many brands are moving their operations overseas, Michel Herbelin remains true to its roots. Here, there are no distant shareholders: just a family, a workshop, and craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation. It is this fierce independence that allows the brand to take its time, refine every detail, and launch bold collections such as the Newport in 1989 (which today celebrates 35 years of uninterrupted success) or the revolutionary Antarès with its interchangeable straps.
Collections That Have Made History
Newport – The Icon of Yachting Chic
Introduced in 1989 to celebrate France’s victory in the Newport Yacht Club Cup, the Newport has become Michel Herbelin’s signature timepiece: central porthole, protected crown, H-shaped link bracelet… A nautical-sporty-chic style that is instantly recognizable and often imitated, but never equaled.
Cap Camarat – Contemporary Elegance
Inspired by the Cap Camarat peninsula in the Var region, this collection embodies Mediterranean chic: clean lines, square or round cases, and sunburst dials in blue, green, or deep black. The Cap Camarat Square model has already become a cult favorite.
Antarès – The Interchangeable Jewelry Watch
A revolution: leather, steel, or Milanese bracelets that can be swapped out in 3 seconds without any tools. Over 300 possible combinations for a single watch. Elegance that adapts to your every desire.
Inspiration – A Return to Art Deco Roots
Cushion-shaped cases, guilloché dials, Breguet numerals… An ode to the 1920s and 1930s, reinterpreted with a distinctly contemporary finesse.
Odyssée, Art Deco, Classics, City…
From the 1,000-meter diving watch to the ultra-thin dress watch, Michel Herbelin offers a wide range of styles, all meeting the same high standards of quality and affordability.
"Made in France"—More Than Just a Slogan
Every Michel Herbelin watch is hand-assembled in Charquemont. The cases, straps, and dials are manufactured in France or neighboring Switzerland. The movements are Swiss (Sellita, ETA, Soprod) or, for certain limited editions, French (Peacock, Manufacture Française du Temps). Sapphire crystal, reliable water resistance, impeccable finishes: here, luxury is not a matter of price, but of authenticity.
