The legendary LIP T18 Original model

To meet the expectations of discerning enthusiasts seeking a watch with a design rooted in the Art Deco era, LIP, under the direction of Pierre-Alain Bérard, is reissuing the famous original T18, this time equipped with a hand-wound mechanical movement. The dimensions and design are largely inspired by the movement developed by André Donat beginning in 1931.

LIP’s new management has decided to reintroduce the most famous of all T18 models: the gold-plated version presented to Winston Churchill in 1948. For this occasion, the case has been slightly enlarged to reflect current trends and is crafted from stainless steel coated with two thick layers of solid gold, each 5 microns thick: the first layer is 18-karat gold and the second is 24-karat gold.

This exceptional timepiece, produced in a limited edition of just 180 numbered pieces, features a dial inspired by the vintage model, with hand-applied raised numerals and a small seconds hand positioned at 6 o'clock. It is fitted with a slightly domed rectangular sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating for optimal readability.

It features an alligator leather strap, handcrafted in the Sibra workshops in Besançon.

This timepiece, an icon of the 1930s and 1940s, is equipped with LIP’s T18 manual-winding mechanical movement. Its components faithfully reproduce the dimensions of the originals and are manufactured in Switzerland by the renowned La Joux-Perret watchmaking company. The finishing and decoration are carried out entirely in the Doubs region at Roland Bailly SAS. The movement is then assembled in Besançon by Humbert-Droz, before being housed in a case and tested at the LIP workshops in Besançon.
