The LIP T18 Churchill is an iconic model that has left its mark on the history of French watchmaking. With its new version set with genuine diamonds, it combines elegance and refinement while staying true to the Art Deco spirit of the early 1930s.

The history of LIP dates back to 1867, when Emmanuel Lipmann founded a small watchmaking business in Besançon. Over the years, the company grew and made a name for itself in the French watchmaking industry. In 1935, production of the Type 18 caliber began, but World War II forced the company to relocate several times before returning to Besançon at the end of the war.

It was during this period that the famous “T18” rolled off the LIP production line. With its small seconds sub-dial and elegant design, it proved a huge hit with watch enthusiasts. In 1948, an all-gold model was presented to Sir Winston Churchill, who would go on to become one of the brand’s ambassadors.

Today, the new LIP T18 Churchill stands out with its polished and brushed 316L stainless steel case, finished in chrome and set with 34 genuine diamonds totaling 0.153 carats. Its two-tone silver dial, Gun IP hands, and black Arabic numerals give it a timeless vintage charm, while its off-center small seconds hand at 6 o’clock adds a touch of originality.

Mineral glass provides optimal protection against scratches, while the smooth, glossy black cowhide leather strap with a glittery finish and black topstitching adds a touch of sophistication. The chrome-plated steel pin buckle elegantly completes the look.

Equipped with a RONDA 1064 analog quartz movement and a type 321 battery, the LIP T18 Churchill is water-resistant to 30 meters and comes with a 2-year warranty. Manufactured in Besançon, France, it proudly carries on the French watchmaking tradition.
