The octagonal shape of this watch gives it a unique look. Timeless in design, the octagon’s success stems from the fact that when you combine the two most common watch shapes (circle and rectangle), you end up with an octagon (by following the contours of the circle as closely as possible while drawing the fewest possible sides).
