In 1973, the announcement of mass dismissals by one of Lip's shareholders triggered demonstrations in France. The discovery of a file bearing the inscription "480 to be released" is the organ of this case. A fierce struggle followed with protests on the streets and a period of self-management initiated on 18 June 1973, summed up by a strong slogan: "It is possible: we manufacture, sell, we pay". On that day, after a vote in the general assembly, production resumed under the control of workers.
In January 1974, thanks to the Dole agreements, the activities resumed in a more formal framework. The idea of leaving the famous designers free of creations, like Roger Tallon, brings a breath of hope to the brand. In a few months, several iconic models see the day.
The reissue or reinterpretation of watch icons such as the Churchill, the Mach 2000 or the Nautic Ski marks a return to the forefront of the brand. Today, it is a symbol of the Lip case that sits on the dial of a limited edition "It is possible".
